Professionally, I worked in the corporate setting and church ministry before becoming a therapist. I opened my private counseling practice after working 11 years in inpatient and intensive outpatient behavioral health.
Personally, my journey has not been easy. I know the pain of divorce and the tests and triumphs of single parenting. In the midst of the challenges, I heard a former college professor say, "God does not cause the bad things to happen, but He promises to walk with you. And if you let Him, He will shape you and mold you and hand you back to a hurting world." I knew then that I wanted my painful experiences to have purpose and meaning. My life is far from perfect, but today I know the joy of remarriage and am honored to help others navigate through past hurts and current challenges to reclaim lives filled with hope.
In addition to a master's degree in Marital and Family Counseling, I have a master's degree in religion and recently completed 60 hours of training in Christian counseling through the American Association of Christian Counselors. For clients who wish to integrate their faith, I bring a Christian perspective to counseling.
